Mr. Iturralde serves in various roles both in the public and the private sectors. In the public sector from 2002 to 2005, Mr. Iturralde has served as an Executive Director of the Advisory Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bolivia. From 1992 to 2002, he was President of the “Directorio Único de Fondos,” the most important social fund dedicated to investment in education, health and infrastructure throughout Bolivia. From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Iturralde served as Minister of the Presidency in Bolivia. Prior to that time, he served as the Bolivian Minister of Foreign Affairs (1989 to 1992), a member of the International Tin Council (1975 to 1982), the Bolivian Ambassador to the United States (1978), the Bolivian Ambassador to Malaysia concurrent to Thailand, Indonesia and Australia (1977) and as Minister Secretary of the Presidency (1972 to 1973). In the private sector, since 1972, Mr. Iturralde serves as CEO and COO of International Mining Company (IMCO) and other mining companies, which together represent the largest private producers of tin and tungsten in Bolivia; since 1980, serves as a fiduciary member of “Fundación Prodem,” an important shareholder of the largest banking and microfinance institutions in Bolivia; since 1995, serves as a board member of an energy company, “Hidroeléctrica Boliviana”; since 2002, serves as Executive Director for “Fundación IDEA” a non-profit educational foundation. In the years 1996, 1997 and 2000, Mr. Iturralde was Secretary General of the Bolivian Banking Association; in 1993, was a Consultant for the Inter American Development Bank (IDB); and in 2002, Consultant to the Andean Development Corporation (CAF).
Mr. Iturralde has been President of the Bolivian Confederation of Private Enterprises (1986 to 1989) and President of the Bolivian Industrial Bank (1983 to 1984). Mr. Iturralde received his BS in Business Administration from the University of North Dakota
